Former Fianna Fáil TD Colm Keaveney has today been declared bankrupt in the High Court.
Mr. Keaveney, who lost his seat in Galway East in February’s election, appeared in person before Ms Justice Caroline Costello.
He was one of 35 other personal applications for bankruptcy before the court today
The hearing was over in seconds when Ms Justice Costello said his papers were in order, which means he now enters the bankruptcy process.
His assets now come under control of the court’s official assignee, Chris Lehane.
Mr Keaveney was elected a TD for the Labour Party in 2011 and became an Independent before joining Fianna Fáil in 2013.
